BENLEIGH SUCCESS AT INTERNATIONAL FLEECE SHOW
With 480 fleece from countries around the world competing in this inaugural event, the success gives further recognition to the high quality breeding that has been the Benleigh trade mark for almost 20 years.
SUCCESSFUL BENLEIGH BLOOD LINES HEADING TO NZ AND THE UK
Following this event, Sancho was shorn and his 10 months of fleece weighed in at 4.3kg. Sancho had previously won Intermediate Champion Male at the Royal Melbourne Show in September and Intermediate Champion and Supreme Champion alpaca at the Victorian Alpaca Fest Show in July 2007. Only having been shown on these three occasions, he has an excellent track record and has now been sold to Keenan and Lisa Scott in New Zealand.
BENLEIGH AT THE MELBOURNE ROYAL 2007 Benleigh Alpaca Stud does not exhibit at many shows these days so it is very reassuring, when we do, to get excellent results.
At the 2007 Melbourne Royal Show (470 entries) Benleigh entered two alpacas, Benleigh Belladonna ET (see below) who will be sold at auction at the AAA National Auction and Benleigh Sancho ET.
CLASSY BREEDING AT BENLEIGH CONTINUES TO PRODUCE OUTSTANDING ALPACAS Benleigh Belladonna ET has been selected for the Australian Alpaca Association National Auction to be held at the Royal Melbourne Showgrounds on Sunday 21 October. Selection of the stock for this prestigious event has been sourced from every State in Australia, and convenor Russell Holmes aims for the quality of those selected to be the best in the country. Benleigh Belladona ET presents distinction at every level of her pedigree, which embraces some of the most impressive alpacas the Australian Alpaca industry has seen. Benleigh Flame, her dam, was sired by Purrumbete Brigantine, who was sold at the Benleigh auction for $145000. Sired by Benleigh Bellisimo, with a lineage which includes Benleigh Highland Belle, Purrumbete Inti, Purrumbete Highlander and Purrumbete Sweet Freedom, who sold at auction for $66000, this young female is ready for mating. Benleigh Alpaca Stud owners, Allan and Carolyn Jinks will pay the purchaser for a stud service to the sire of their choice.
Benleigh Sancho ET was awarded Supreme Champion Huacaya Alpaca at the 2007 Alpaca Fest, the Victorian Western Region’s most prestigious show. Benleigh continues to produce elite alpacas by using superior genetics.
